Shops and restaurants Manosque is in the heart of the area and harbours many provisions: supermarkets, a hospital, a theatre etc. The hustle of the town centre provides for boutiques, large and small bookshops, restaurants etc. The bakers (quite important) vary considerably in the quality of their baguettes - maybe worth while a gastronomic advice? In restaurants Manosque offers the whole spectrum, from restaurants with Michelin stars to grillrooms. Some restaurants specialize in the Provençal cuisine. Other restaurants can be recommended because of their atmosphere or service. We shall be happy to offer some advice. Markets The weekly market in Manosque is on Saturday morning. Therefore also many provisions (e.g. banks) are open on Saturdays, but closed on Mondays. The Monday morning market in nearby Forcalquier is somewhat bigger. Also there is a typical mobile Provençal 'market of the tastes', varying per season. |
